While we are here in this life, given one another to care for, we can learn the lessons of mutual love and support and shared sufferings.

21st March 5th Sunday of Lent

When we are privileged to share in Christ’s sufferings, we also share in his new life.

28th March Palm Sunday

Isaiah 50.4-9a Philippians 2.5-11 Luke 22.14-end

As Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a donkey and the crowds welcome him, we sense both the joy at the Messiah being acclaimed, and the heaviness of his suffering which follows. Jesus’ mission is drawing to its fulfilment.

Prayer for the Parish - change of time and place

For the duration of Lent our informal time of prayer for the church and parish will be held at The Vicarage, rather than Holy Rood Church.

It will start at 7.30pm, before the evening session of the Lent Course.

Dates are Thursdays 4th, 11th and 18th March.

Holy Rood Church - Services in the Community

Knowlewood Knap: Holy Communion 2nd March at 10.00am in the Day Room.

Hyde Place: Holy Communion 11th March at 10.00am in the Day Room.

Anyone may go along to these services especially if you feel that you are unable to access Holy Rood Church for the services there.
